I configured  jack using cadence.

As for jackd version I'm perplexed because I can't find a jackd binary on
my system. It's been a while since I have used jack. I've installed it from
the gentoo bar overlay which points to https://github.com/jackaudio/jack2

I'm using jack_control start/stop to run jack

 ~ $ grep memlock /etc/security/limits.conf
#        - memlock - max locked-in-memory address space (KB)

 ~ $ grep memlock /etc/security/limits.d/*
@realtime       -       memlock unlimited
