any ideas where we could find information showing which laptops *are* suitable? i'm not a fan of apple, but a lot of people seem to use their hardware for audio work, so i assume they are ok for it, but what about others? i'd prefer not to get a mac when i finally save up for one.
due to excessive use of SMM traps for things like power management.
The typical symptom is xruns at regular intervals, when querying
battery status, when plugging or unplugging AC power cord, etc.

Presumably the hardware on the ADK site has been verified free of SMM
problems, singing capacitors, poor shielding, and all the other common
issues that make many laptops unusable for pro audio.

Lee

_______________________________________________
Linux-audio-user mailing list
