<br>Essentially the PREEMPT_RT patches are only considered stable at this time on up to 2.6.26, the newer stuff should be considered dev. At least if I understood the article correctly. At any rate this is probably where I would start if I was going to compile one today from scratch.<br>

</div>I've been using 8.10 without the rt kernel and am fairly happy with it<br>
as a general purpose system. However, for my music purposes I need an rt<br>
kernel, hence the original post.<br>

</div>I assume you refer to Intrepid ? Hardy seems well-regarded and (IIRC) is<br>
now the basis for the upcoming release of 64 Studio 3.0.<br>
