<br>Why is this?<br><br>I'm willing to bet this could be part of the reason that all the players I've tried cannot reliable play a FLAC playlist.<br>

Ah, the usual Linux music player run-around... Lately I've found<br>
myself enjoying the simplicity of MOC (<a href="http://moc.daper.net/" target="_blank">http://moc.daper.net/</a>). It<br>
automatically uses Jack if it's running, and if not goes directly for<br>
ALSA. It's terminal/curses based, very simple and lightweight with a<br>
Midnight-Commander-like interface. Being able to ssh to it without<br>
X-forwarding is nice.<br>
