Hi!<br><br>First off, this is from memory of RoseGarden 9.x, I dont have it here now. Please read with salt. :-)<br><br>1: If your using the internal synth in rosegarden, then you need to patch the audio outputs of rosegarden to<br>
the system playbacks, and it should all work.<br><br>2: If your using an external synth, (QSynth), you need to patch the MIDI from RoseGarden to QSynth, and the <br>Audio from QSynth to the system playbacks.<br><br>I think your attempting #2, which would mean that if you patch the MIDI to QSynth you migth be in buisness..?<br>

I'm running Rosegarden 10.02 on Ubuntu Lucid and am having problems with audio output. I am not using external midi hardware so am reliant on software synths.<br>

Run qjackctl, run Qsynth (which has been loaded with Unison soundfonts).<br>
In Rosegarden I've selected General Midi Device from the Playback parameters and 1. Acoustic Grand Piano from the Instrument parameters.<br>

When I load a midi file (created by Lilypond) it plays with no audio although the level meters on the track do indicate it's getting some kind of signal.<br>
<br>
What am I missing? And, does Qsynth need to be running at all?<br>
