Michael, it is weird I forgot about it, you can actually use Giada for that!<br><br><a href="http://www.monocasual.com/giada/index.php">http://www.monocasual.com/giada/index.php</a><br><br>It is a looper machine, but a loop can be set to "trigger mode" and it does load mp3s.<br>
So there you go, it is a working solution, I have used it.<br><br><div class="gmail_quote">On Wed, Aug 22, 2012 at 6:33 PM, Michael Afflerbach <span dir="ltr"><<a href="mailto:maffle@gmail.com" target="_blank">maffle@gmail.com</a>></span> wrote:<br>

Dr Soundwall indeed looks exactly what I am looking for. Sadly I
see no downloads, wiki, on information beyond a description of the
kind of program I need.!!<br>
<br>
These are also used in theatre productions for sound effects, etc.<br>
<br>
Just wish there was a ready-to-go way to do it in Linux (so I can
specialize an old laptop or netbook to just do that in a rock solid
environment).<br>
<br>
Thanks for all the interest in my problem from the group already.
Any other suggestions will be considered. Although maybe learning
how to code something. (although definitely NOT my forte!)<br>
<br>
Thanks again for a very well-behaved and attentive list-serv<br>

I am looking for some instant sound board software that I
can install on a Linux machine.<br>
<br>
Basically, I need a GUI interface with buttons (or rows of
buttons) where I can play out MP3s in rapid succession out
the soundcard.<br>

Sorry about the earlier post, which may have been
misleading. I searched my email archive, and found the
mention was on another list, not this one. And I misspelled
the project name.<br>
