Paul Davis is on permanent record as saying:
:
:and lets suppose they did so. how many extra units would they actually
:sell? my guess is less than a dozen or so in a given year. notice that
:i said "extra". the chameleon doesn't run linux, we're talking about
:developers who want to work on linux but develop DSP code for the
:chameleon. thats a tiny, tiny, tiny, tiny market.
:
:there just isn't any financial justification at this point for a small
:company with an existing SDK for the most widely used OS in the world
:to spin off cash, time and/or people to develop a linux SDK, even if
:they *wanted* to.

I've been interested in picking up a Chameleon for a while, but held off
because of a recent overseas move. The SDK is still a bit of a sticking
point, considering I have no form of windows installed, but what of wine
and its derivatives? Has anyone tried running the tools?

I'd give this a try myself, but I lack a net connection at home, and my
DVD drive (*grumble* Dell *grumbl*) is misbehaving.

I do have fond memories of developing for Motorola targets in the past.
I wouldn't mind getting back into their tools.
