First up, my mistake, it was Reborn.

This is not my understanding. The P/H bitmaps were NOT part of the FB
release. They basically stated that if you had an original copy of
Rebirth, then you could copy the bitmap files from your CD to your
freebirth directory. No, it was definately a case of "You copied our
layout".

Aha! From the site:

"Unfortunately I have been asked by Propellerhead Software to remove
ReBorn from my website and refrain from distributing it. Although ReBorn
was an original work, it copied the look, feel and operation of
Propellerhead's ReBirth program and as such was in breach of copyright."

Apparently they had written permission from Roland for their layout.
That SUCKS big time. They want to use someone elses layout but then get
pissy when someone uses theirs. 

Time to write an email.... >:(
