You get more lows and more volume as you go farther from the bridge.
There will be other tonal differences due to the fact that you have
two different kinds of pickups. (the "pair slightly offset"
sounds like a typical Precision aka P-bass pickup).
So any "muddy" effect will likely sound worse with a middle
or neck pickup than with a bridge pickup.
