Thanks for starting this Ron, I for one hope that it will be successful.
I'd guess that us Free Software types are going to want a more strict
definition of "licence free" ;), so can I suggest we argue amongst
ourselves about what we'd like in the way of licencing before spamming the
list.
Some sort of (seperate, technical) statement from the l-a-d community
about what features we'd like is probably a good idea too. We have more
experiences in some areas than the closed plugin systems, eg. plugins as
modular synth modules, natural ranges*, seperating UIs from DSP code** and
metadata.
* unless MAS or TDM do this, I dont know anything about them.
** except TDM and hardware accelerated VST, and modulo obove
