Hydrogen internally has note's pitch support (you can look at the xml 
song files..) but has no Midi or GUI support yet. It's only a matter of 
time, now I'm working on a complete redesign of the pattern editor, 
including a "piano-roll" editor for bass lines and chromatic instruments 
edit.
