You can do something like this...
int oldtype;
pthread_setcanceltype(PTHREAD_CANCEL_ASYNCHRONOUS, &oldtype);
/* invoke the callback */
framesProcessed = PaUtil_EndBufferProcessing( &stream->bufferProcessor,
&callbackResult );
/* restore original canceltype setting */
pthread_setcanceltype(oldtype, NULL);
