I agree very much.. the question is whether to add some sort of explicit
transport support, or just a standard set of ports that convey the
necessary information.

If it would only take a port or two to get the req'd information, I'm
for that approach, particularly since it's backwards-to-LADSPA
compatible.  Might not be sufficient though?

Should we take it to the DSSI list?
