that assumes that all the needed data is in a tag. It also 
assumes that the tag data (playing time, for instance) is 
correct. One con assume no such thing. Many file creators set the 
tag fields to arbitrary values and many files are not tagged at all.

The object was to get the stream parameters, not metadata.
