That's actually quite a curious sentence! People have very different
conceptions about what a sequencer is or what it should be. 

Dave Griffiths' performance at LAC2005 is just one of the more extreme
examples how a sequencer can look like, if it's not Cubase. Pd's data
structures are another experimental approach as is Orm Finnendahl's
usage of XFig as a sequencer environment presented at last year's LAC.
