Yes, they do, but it doesn't change the fact of what a sequencer is.

If it sequence midi, then it's a midi sequencer.

Well, you control the sequencer with your interface. 

I'm not trying to be difficult, but I'd rather have a powerful
sequencer daemon and then look for a nice model view editor.
