I've never looked on emacs as an editor; it's an extensible computing
environment. I use it as my default shell and I really do everything
from it.

To compare it with an os is just non sense. It's a user space
application offering the most powerful environment to work in, in my
opinion and experience.

It needs a rewrite to get proper threading, though.
