Darn it.  This time I got the right source but unfortunately things are
even worse :(

As a normal user waveMix doesn't start:

ryanpg at localhost ~ $ waveMixer
*** glibc detected *** free(): invalid pointer: 0x0817a948 ***
Aborted

As root it just segfaults:

localhost wavemixer-0.3 # waveMixer
Segmentation fault

I'll be happy to hear any advice on how to debug.  Oh and I get the
feeling I shouldn't be cross-posting to LAU and LAD, I guess we should
continue on LAD?
