seems the configure script still requires the gui:

[mrmachine at localhost smack-0.2.0]$ ./configure --prefix=/usr
configure: error: cannot find sources (gui.c) in . or ..

i tried commenting out the offending line, but that was just a shot in
the dark, really ... me wants me smack!
