Uh huh, and when running skype. ekiga, audacity, or anything else that 
requires this full duplex operation, it doesn't effect this particular 
phenom other than turning the overall volume down, and when you run it 
back up to the audible level, its still doing it with as much enthusiasm 
as when you turned it down for effects.  It specifically is not related 
to any gain control's settings.
