I'll argue the mail I sent last hour:

The default settings should use the "Notebook" setting and larger fonts,
I guess "Sans 10" is a good choice. I was able to use the GUI with my
new monitor and to set the view up to my needs, but I wasn't able to do
it with my old monitor. I couldn't use Phasex, because I couldn't set up
the view. Nothing, but the monitor changed, it's the same install.
Ultra-mini fonts and ultra-wide windows aren't good as the default setting.
