I don't depend on open source audio for my daily work, but I want to
have trouble free fun making music in my free time.

To cut a long story short, I never used carla.

Building caral and launching carla does work, I still wonder what

  Carla 1.9.7 (2.0-beta5)

is for. Did I build the stable release 1.9.7 or a beta of 2.0?
