That is an interesting trend isn't it? Certainly the presets are much
more convenient to use right from rakarrack than using the plugins. I
had hoped my project would be used more, but OTOH I use them and I
don't regret the effort.

It's interesting for sure...
Imho working with all the JACK applications can be a pain on Linux, but
with nsm support, the experience is much better. And then standalone
applications are preferable in certain situations actually. If I would
need one instance of Zynaddsubfx, I would always grab the standalone
version. If I need more instances, I might switch to Carla instead and
grab the plugin.
On the other hand, I know people are using Rakarrack, because you can
launch multiple instances and chain them together to create something
interesting.

Actually I always thought doing automation with JACK standalone
applications was a huge disadvantage compared with plugins. But
it's actually good possible to sent midi cc automation from a DAW
to a JACK standalone softsynth like Zynaddsubfx. Or I was
ignorant, or I'm still ignorant, but I don't see the problem not
so much anymore. :)

By the way, I've heard people are using your plugins too, so
don't worry too much about it. ;)
