> What sort of programs? Have you try timidity or iiwusynth (http://www.fluid-synth.org/) ? These are real good soft synths, capable of emulating the best soundcards and some of the best hardware samplers and synthesizers. I used TiMidity with no problems on my old P200 + 48MB .
