Humm...I haven't heard of these problems on the Hammerfall series, but
on the HDSP series we have had problems with new revisions of firmware
not being recognized. We would need to understand whether something has
gotten messed up with the card version list between 0.9.2 and 1.0.0.
Since it used to work, it should continue to work. I'm sure there is no
intentional thought to take support for this card away. 

Additionally, my Hammerfall Light IS working with 1.0.0rc2, so it sounds
like a code problem.

If you're experienced in digging through code, then maybe you can find
the stuff in the rme9652 driver that looks for card revisions and make
sure that 0x03 is supported.
