So, it features a SiS chipset and not a VIA chipset, so it should not
suffer of the nasty audio dropouts common in those last ones. But I
have not experienced them myself and only rely fully on Intel
chipsets.

Consider this a "maximum" or "peak" value.

You should check the "sustained data transfer rate" which is the
useful value in specifications and often it gets hidden.
