Have you tried the new ecasignalview...? There's a screenshot of it at:
http://eca.cx/screenshots/ecasound-2.2.0-pre4_ecasignalview.png If you use
it with JACK, you can simultaneously record with ecasound and monitor with
ecasignalview.
