jackd does not have to be run as root, and nor does it have to be run 
on a kernel with capabilities or whatever.

But you do have to use one of those options if you want it to be able 
to use real time scheduling, which is generally considered essential 
for really predictable performance.

I personally only ever run it as a non-root user on a kernel without 
capabilities support, because I only use audio infrequently and I 
don't care a great deal if I get the occasional dropout under heavy 
load.  I'd much rather that than have jackd or an in-development JACK 
application be able to disrupt my entire system.  Of course JACK is 
not really aimed at users like me, but so long as it works for me 
too, that's fine by me.

I don't know anything about ladcca though.
