I'll give a vote for Gentoo too. Easy to install all the programs but I 
spent half a lifetime trying to stop xruns from occuring. It works now 
but unfortunately I'm at a loss to know exactly what it is I've 
enabled/configured to allow my SB Live! to work so well.
