[linux-audio-user] Regarding NoteEdit, Finale, and rumor

Would I buy Finale or Sonar if they'd really play under Linux? I bought a lot
of advanced MIDI software for Windows as well as Sonar's not-so-little sister
Home Studio. Some stuff I got in exchange for beta testing or consulting with
the authors. No plans for Linux ports and I USE this stuff.

Maybe some of us would be Linux ports of premier applications. However, the
Linux world is sold on Open-Source. Most Linux geeks will never purchase
anything. Example, myself--I was considering buying the very reasonably
priced Lindows (now Linspire--wait for the real Microsoft Lindows :-)). Then
I saw and article about Knoppix. Did the job at an evern more reasonable
cost. Gnu?

If I can "make do" with notedit, probably would not shell out the dought for
Finale. Forget about Sibelius ... and ... there are very reasonably priced
package around in Windows if one can go with their qwerks and more and more
freebies as well. So I do not expect Coda or Cakewalk or Steinberg to get
into the Linux market anytime soon.
