[linux-audio-user] plugging a bass guitar in a linux box

I did this repeatedly a few ago with a cheapo sound blaster, and the only
problem I had when the input was too high was that the sound clipped. But it
didn't do any damage to the hardware. All I had to do has turn the knob down
on the bass, and the sound was actually not bad. Ok, it was on a windows
system, but I think the OS is irrelevant here.
