I have one of these, works fine under Debian 2.6.* kernels using alsa. I do get error -5 messages but they may be coming from the 2nd USB which has no device on it. Check to make sure that it is indeed alsa which is running (one USB driver covers both audio and MIDI). If need be, "blanklist" the OSS USB drivers.
