Heh, tell that to the guys using i.e. SuperCollider3, Pd, etc.. There's
quite a few commercial acts that use this stuff (anyone remember i.e.
cylob's "rewind"?). I must admit though, that cylob uses the Mac version
of SC which gives him all those nice GUI nifties not available on linux,
but who knows what the future brings.

If the music of most of the people that use open source doesn't suit
you, well that's your problem. :) 

And yeah, if you like the commercial synths better than the open source
ones, you have basically two choices:

- use the commercial ones and be happy

- help the open source community in producing something that fits your
needs (maybe even pay somebody to improve an existing open source app to
do something you need. This idea is not so strange to people using
commercial software i'd reckon)

Whining is not in above list ;) Constructive criticism is always
appreciated.

Ah and btw: i find both (A) and (B) pointless. Why would anyone waste
his time doing this?
