Did you try the other PCM definitions, too, that are defined in your
asoundrc? Maybe "quattro" doesn't work well with jack. 

The Quattro is a strange device, which, as you probably know from
reading the archives, gave a lot of people including me a lot of
headaches, so you'll probably need to experiment a lot, too. (I gave
up, btw.)
