[linux-audio-user] jacks runs fine until I login to fluxbox?!?!?!

My first question is: It there a way to check if realtime is really working?

I am running demudi 1.3 with what others have confirmed is totally adequate
hardware. When I first boot demudi I can start jack with the following
command:

/usr/bin/jackd -v --realtime -u -dalsa -dhw:0 -r96000 -p256 -n2

I would like 96000 in order to create high quality DVD audio.

But when I login to fluxbox and qjackctl, gkrellm and other apps start I see
output in qjackctl's display like this 1(4532) after about 30 seconds. I then
go back to the command line and I willsee the following repeating on the
command line very fast:

delay of 2810.000 usecs exceeds estimated spare time of 2664.000; restart ...
delay of 2810.000 usecs exceeds estimated spare time of 2664.000; restart ...
delay of 2810.000 usecs exceeds estimated spare time of 2664.000; restart ...
delay of 2810.000 usecs exceeds estimated spare time of 2664.000; restart ...
delay of 2810.000 usecs exceeds estimated spare time of 2664.000; restart ...
delay of 2810.000 usecs exceeds estimated spare time of 2664.000; restart ...

and on and on......

After this I cannot get jack to respond properly unless I kill all apps
running in fluxbox and don't pull up the menu in fluxbox. Even simple mouse
commands to view the fluxbox menu cause xruns!

- I have used Ingo Molnar’s 2.6 kernel patch (I am having the same problems in
the default 2.6 kernel with demudi 1.3 with kernel 2.6 and do not remember
these problems with demudi 1.2.1 kernel 2.4)
- I have set my Audio Card priority to 99 (also tried as default)
- I have set my jack priority to 70 (toggled between 0 and 70)
- I have installed and configure realtime-lsm (played with all parameters)
- I have put export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.19 in my /etc/profile

What else can one do to solve this problem? I am stumped!

Thanks
Chris Cherrett
