if you dont want a big ugly case and a half dozen tweaker mods to install, you could check out a Shuttle. it just has a gigantic headsink/heatpipe/fan/heatgrille combo. all you do is wipe some thermal grease on top of the CPU and screw it on. the fan is so big that it spins slow and you dont really hear it. mine never come out of low anyways.

best to get a HD that doesnt make any noise in the first place. like a Samsung..


although you may not care, SC, Chuck and SuperCollider don't work on 64bit OS's. certainly that should be a bigger concern (to people on this list) than qdxproprietary whatsit browser codecs..
