Thanks a lot for you reply, also to Arnold and Clemens.
My audio problem is solved :-) But not my MIDI problem :-(

Found myself a good friend there indeed :-) I've got audio directly from my
USB interface now.
But MIDI signal still doesn't come through. When I list all available MIDI
clients I get:
[oscar at femoralis ~]$ aconnect -o
client 62: 'Midi Through' [type=kernel]
0 'Midi Through Port-0'
client 72: 'TASCAM US-X2Y' [type=kernel]
0 'TASCAM US-X2Y MIDI 1'
client 129: 'FLUID Synth (6160)' [type=user]
0 'Synth input port (6160:0)'
client 130: 'Rosegarden' [type=user]
0 'Rosegarden input'
[oscar at femoralis ~]$
So rosegarden has a writable port, but it's not listed as readable:
[oscar at femoralis ~]$ aconnect -i
client 0: 'System' [type=kernel]
0 'Timer '
1 'Announce '
client 62: 'Midi Through' [type=kernel]
0 'Midi Through Port-0'
client 72: 'TASCAM US-X2Y' [type=kernel]
0 'TASCAM US-X2Y MIDI 1'
[oscar at femoralis ~]$
The writable port is connected:
[oscar at femoralis ~]$ aconnect -ol
client 62: 'Midi Through' [type=kernel]
0 'Midi Through Port-0'
Connecting To: 130:0
Connected From: 130:1
client 72: 'TASCAM US-X2Y' [type=kernel]
0 'TASCAM US-X2Y MIDI 1'
Connecting To: 130:0
Connected From: 130:1
client 129: 'FLUID Synth (6160)' [type=user]
0 'Synth input port (6160:0)'
Connected From: 130:1
client 130: 'Rosegarden' [type=user]
0 'Rosegarden input'
Connected From: 0:1, 72:0, 62:0
[oscar at femoralis ~]$
Do I need to create ports somewhere in Rosegarden?
Thanks in advance,
Oscar
