I held a talk about linux audio usability issues at last years LAC (2005 
or even year[2004] ;-), and one of the points was counting things.

In the open source world the coder usually is the UI designer as well. 
Meanwhile I have started to learn a bit coding and I immediately 
understood why some interfaces look as they do.

This it not an offense at all, I can deal with it. But if a coder gets 
interested in usability things users will benefit for sure.
