Basically yes. (You could do without a projector actually.)
Additionally you need the cubes which are printed with special
patterns (Fiducials) so that their positions and rotations can be read
correctly. You could then for example use the "reacTIVision" software
to read from a V4L-device and generate OSC-messages according to the
patterns that have been recognized, or use the [pix_fiducialtrack]
object to analyze a video stream with fiducials in Pd/Gem.
