I always assumed that each instrument had its own controllers (since the
"Controllers" button is in the instrument tab in the GUI). I can't test
it now though. There used to be documentation about the controllers on
http://zynaddsubfx.sourceforge.net , but the server with the SF project
pages seem to be down at the moment.
