Me too.  youtube-dl+mplayer rocks!

It's at http://www.arrakis.es/~rggi3/youtube-dl/ .  (It's actually a
Python script.)  Make sure you get the latest one.  Inevitably it
breaks whenever Youtube change their interface, but so far it has
tracked such changes pretty promptly.
