Incidentally, you might just consider grabbing the .deb from the ubuntu
repositories.  This one didn't make it into the Debian repos, yet.

Download the .orig.tar.gz and the diff.gz for the hexter package, and build the
.deb yourself.  Then you can install the package using 'dpkg -i'.
