Wow, really difficult then!! :)

I am really coming round to this mic, particularly as it seems I
would need a separate mic amp for the Shure SM58.. Is this
correct?

The Samson C01U seems to get some variable reviews though..
Several people complain about it having a built-in hiss.. The
SBLive is not exactly silent though (!!) so I guess this might
not be a major problem. Have you used the C01U? What's the noise
level like with it? Acceptable for music?
