[LAU] Very low input from accoustic guitar pickup

Just because both guitar and your 1010 have quarter inch inputs
doesn't mean they are the same. A guitar pickup has a Hi-Z output, and
the 1010 is expecting a line-level input. They are not the same thing.
(having a battery doesn't mean a thing in regards to preamps, it means
it has an active rather than a passive pickup)

A mixer won't do much good either unless it comes with a Hi-Z input,
which is not common.

Most people set it up going from HI-Z into a DI box, and from there
into a preamp to get a line level signal. (There are some preamps with
Hi-Z inputs so that you can skip the DI box, but they are not very
common.)
