Never heard about it before. Google didn't find me a living homepage. Is

I know specimen is also hibernating, but IMHO it's close to being the 
one-stop sampler (except for playing gigs or soundfonts) for linux.

I'm hacking a few patches at the moment, and something like velocity 
layering shouldn't be too difficult to do.
