Well, don't know if this is the only help you need.

svn is a version control system, like CVS. Check here:
http://subversion.tigris.org

You don't need it to install patchage (0.4.0 -- stable version) UNLESS
you want to test the latest UNDER DEVELOPMENT subversions.

Is this information enough?
In which system are you willing to install Patchage? Isn't there a
package for your distribution?
