[LAU] Intel-HDA sound issues

Hi. I've got hda-intel, too. Hate it.
I use linux audio to run Dragon NaturallySpeaking using wine. Sound quality and latency both hugely important to speech recognition, which is why I'm on this list.
Anyone have any luck with an m-audio transit?
