I was wrong: My own compiled plugin doesn't work at all (crashes the 
host) and the binary version works well, probably because I installed 
libfltk1.1(-dev) to be able to compile from source.

Anyways, it's still not restoring the settings when loading a saved 
project AND it won't let me load a saved .xmz (saved from the plugin).

Input still appreciated!
