Yes. It only can be used with Csound.

Hydrogen is a great drummachine with it's own GUI. csDrummer is a
simple console-based tool. It uses a MIDI file, created with any
sequencer, like Rosegarden. It processes the MIDI messages and outputs
an audio stream. There is one main feature which makes csDrummer
better than Hydrogen: the morphing between two layers of sampled
audio.
