[LAU] Am I experiencing ground hum or is it something else?

Dave and Fons,

Thanks a mill for being so patient with my sillinesss! Yeah, I have muted
and turned down the CD Audio channel on the alsa software mixer. But
unfortunatly, this produces no reduction in the noise..
